A coroner has said that the death of a 9-year-old girl who died after being hit by rockfall on a beach, is one of the most tragic cases he’s heard in 40 years.
Harriet Forster from Oxford was on holiday in Staithes with her mother when the tragedy happened in August. A verdict of accidental death was recorded following the inquest.
The coroner recommended that clearer warning signs be put up in the area where Harriet died.
Rachel Bullock reports.
