Gordon Brown on abolishing the Lords, IndyRef2, and the Royals | ITV News

Former prime minister Gordon Brown has suggested Scottish independence could be avoided if the House of Lords was abolished and replaced with a “council of the nations”.

He told ITV News Political Editor Robert Peston that Boris Johnson would need to make “make Scotland feel that they are a much bigger part” of the UK, if he is to unify the country.

In the wide ranging interview, he also spoke about Prince Harry, the plan for HS2 and the resignation of Lord Tony Hall as Director General of the BBC.
