Pylon explodes into ‘fireball’ seconds after Didcot power station demolition

Seconds after three iconic cooling towers at Didcot power station were demolished, an electricity pylon exploded showering families in sparks.

Video footage of the 375ft towers shows nearby power lines violently shaking before a pylon burst into flames.

40,000 homes are thought to have lost power because of the incident.
