Radcliffe: Caster Semenya ruling may bring death of women’s sport

It’s one of the most contentious issues in women’s sport: Should transgender athletes take part in female competitions?

Former long distance runner Paula Radcliffe has launched one of the most outspoken criticisms yet by a prominent athlete – describing the practice as “unfair and dangerous”.

Her comments come ahead of a decision by athletics officials next week over whether to force South African runner Caster Semenya and others with differences in sexual development, to take testosterone blockers.
