Remembering England World Cup hero and Leeds United legend ‘Big Jack’ Charlton

Tributes have been paid to the man affectionately known as ‘Big Jack’, who has been described as ‘a true great of the game’.

The 85-year-old passed away peacefully at his Northumberland home on Friday, his family said.

He was diagnosed with lymphoma in the last year and was also suffering from dementia.

Charlton, the older brother of Sir Bobby Charlton, was part of England’s World Cup-winning team in 1966.
