In the past three months the Chancellor Rishi Sunak has taken some credit for his handling of the economy during its most difficult time for centuries.
Tomorrow he has to try to do it again. In what amounts to a mini-budget he will unveil plans to boost the economy.

He is also expected to announce a cut in VAT for hospitality businesses and declare a stamp duty holiday for houses under half a million.
