It’s been billed as England’s biggest event of the year. The eighty-day Great Exhibition of the North is a week away. Its main attraction is arguably one of Britain’s most famous feats of engineering. Robert Stephenson’s Rocket. The locomotive was built in Newcastle and is back in the city for the first time since 1862. Organisers hope it will help draw some of the estimated three million visitors to the event.
