The World Anti-Doping Agency has banned Russia from all major international sporting events, including the olympics and paraylmpics for four years.
The president of WADA said an investigation found that Moscow planted fake evidence and deleted files linked to positive doping tests that could have helped identify drug cheats.
Individual athletes will be allowed to compete if they can prove they are not implicated by doping in Russia.
Sky’s sport correspondent Martha Kelner reports.
