The man who entered football’s history books after making the game’s greatest ever goalkeeping save, has died.
Gordon Banks was one of England’s 1966 World Cup heroes, and played at clubs across the Midlands, including Stoke, Leicester and Chesterfield. He has died aged 81, after an ongoing battle with kidney cancer.
