‘Thankful villages’ in memory of WW1 | ITV News

Around 700,000 British service personnel were killed between 1914-18. There are thousands of villages around the UK, and nearly all of them had cause to count the cost of the First World War.

A few escaped unscathed… But around 55 villages in our region have been identified as ‘Thankful Villages’ including Scrunton.
