Their idea, to streamline customs checks using established technology, was swiftly dismissed by Dublin as an “unworkable distraction”.
And the policy launch was overshadowed by questions over whether the pro-Brexit Tory MPs in the European Research Group have been plotting not just to get rid of Theresa May’s Brexit policy, but Theresa May herself.
