Two amputations a week are carried out on diabetes patients in Leicestershire| ITV News

A doctor from Leicestershire has told ITV News Central that he estimates there are as many as 2 amputations every week on patients with diabetes in the county.

The number of people with the condition in Leicestershire has now passed 67,000 – according to Diabetes UK.

The majority of those are type two, which is affected by lifestyle. The South Asian community is disproportionately affected. Yasmin Bodalbhai reports.
