Why America should intervene in the case of Harry Dunn

On August 27, Anne Sacoolas drove out of RAF Croughton and turned onto the B4031. Instead of entering the left-hand lane, the American diplomat’s wife forgot where she was and instinctively chose the right side of the road. Coming towards her was a beam of light. It was the front lamp on a motorbike ridden by 19-year-old Harry Dunn. The collision between the two vehicles was so violent, it caused a fireball.

Given how recently they buried their child, Charlotte and Tim Dunn are remarkably unvengeful. They say they want Mrs Sacoolas, who has admitted she was on the wrong side of the road, to be given a suspended sentence for causing death by careless driving, rather than a likely custodial sentence for dangerous driving.
