Coronavirus, the US and Arizona: The land of the free where the virus can thrive | ITV News
President Donald Trump is about to fulfil his promise to pull America out of the World Health Organisation, which has co-ordinated the global response to the pandemic.
The notification has been filed with the United Nations to leave next year. To Mr Trump’s critics the timing looks chaotic, as one put it.
That’s because there are now nearly 3 million confirmed cases of coronavirus across America .
And so far 130,000 people have died from it
Daily case numbers are rising in dozens of states, with many across the South seeing triple what they were a fortnight ago.
Arizona was one of the last places to lockdown, and one of the first to re-open. And it’s showing.
They’re seeing around 3 and a half thousand new cases per day.
