Donald Trump unveils a 5-minute coronavirus test
President Donald Trump uveiled a new FDA authorized 15-minute coronavirus test during the daily Task Force news conference.
“A point of care tests a test that gives you a result where you’re getting care,” said the FDA Commissioner Steven Hahn.
“This is truly a patient centered approach, whether it’s the doctor’s office, a hospital, an emergency room, an urgent care center or a drive by testing site. Just like tests for flu or strep. We go to the doctor, she get the test done. You can get an answer within minutes of having this test done.”
This comes a day after Trump made a dramatic course reversal and announced that he would not be moving to ease the guidelines and get the economy back up and running by Easter, as he said last week he hoped to do.
